A casual dinner at Porto Bistreau.

It's always a pleasure of mine to share some incredible moments I've been through, and I'm back writing stories again. Perhaps several of my readers who has already follow me on instagram and zomato know more about my daily during my off-period of blogging. Well, let me tell you a thing, I found a very affordable yet fancy dinner place, here in Jakarta. Seriously. When I was in Serpong area for some business in a cloudy Sunday, looking for a place to have dinner, and as usual I do Zomato-ing. Then I found a restaurant, quite fancy with medium price of foods. I shocked at first, and with just 50-50 feeling, finally I decided to visit this fancy restaurant.

Porto Bistreau, located in Gading Serpong, around 1,5 hours driving from South Jakarta. The restaurant is build in a three-floor shop house, with a backyard which opened as the smoking area. The first two floors are open as the dining area. They completely put a lot of attention in the interior, which I love so much. Woods, black chairs, marble table, and all classic contemporary design. Even their toilet is something to be fascinated. About the foods, I could die everyday craving for its! Taste so delicious with a beautiful plating (I still not consider about the price, really it's so delicious).

Australian Hamburg Melting Cheese. Grilled Australian beef patty, stuffed with melting cheddar, topped with special Porto sauce, sunny-side up egg, served with vegetables and homemade potato wedges. The portion is quite big, so I assume you'll feel completely full after a day starving for foods.

Hanging tender.  Well, they offers this menu in small portion as for appetizer (50 gram) and bigger one (100 gram) complete with potato wedges as for main course. I ordered this small size hanging tender because I've already eaten some snacks and dessert at different place earlier. The sliced Australian hanging tended is grilled with imported kosher sea salt and black pepper. The taste is very simple but hard to forget.

( Set tops: Belcorpo | Ripped jeans: ZARA | Ballerina flat shoes: Stradivarius | Fur bag: ZARA)

I didn't plan for having a kind of fancy dinner with pretty gown, so I came with a very casual attire. Because today it's a trend for two-pieces-top, like a combination of an outer tank with a long sleeve top or a corset with a black shirt, I found one that suits me from a collection of local online shop. The set is coming with a creme long sleeve to be wear as inner, and an outer crop tank with attached sash that can be tied what ever you wants. I chose my light blue gray ripped jeans as the bottom and paired it with a ballerina flat shoes to bring a casual look. And I can run faster without a high heels on.

Cup and Crumbs Surabaya

One fine afternoon, there were three girls opened a door which made by glass. They entered a room with vintage atmosphere. At a corner, there were people queuing and also glancing to the black board with menu written on. And no one of them chose other food than the beef burger. The cafe named Cup and Crumbs Downtown Cafe

There is a friend next to you and wait for something you share with.

Burger galore! Their beef burger is priced IDR 36k before tax. And it's quite recommended.

The college-mates, Vinesia, Intan, and me.

I was wearing a rainbow loom bracelets which a gift from my friend's 6th grade sister.

Well, finally can share a little good news for the Surabaya-ers, a recent opened cafe in Eastern Surabaya with cozy atmosphere actually. I'm totally busy because this August I have my second internship, so really don't have any free time as usual to travelling and have a culinary adventure. Perhaps I should post about my first internship adventure at a shipyard, just wait for that.

Solo : Rawon Bakar "PAWON OMAH KOE"

Located near the Adisumarno airport Solo, this restaurant which offers a traditional food named Rawon Bakar, provide the vintage place. Fresh atmosphere there, because the wet field are around, and there are old train on the backyard. But unfortunately it's not for transportation, only for sitting in that fresh air, and taking some photos maybe.

The food that recommended by the resto is their RAWON BAKAR. In fact, they still have another kind of dishes on their menu list. As we know, that Rawon is kind of traditional soup contains meat and seasonings, then served with rice. But they make some innovation, they separates the soup and the meat. They grill the meat itself, and put the soup on different plate.

The package for this Rawon Bakar about IDR 30.000, included rawon, traditional salted egg, rice, and soft drink. Perhaps, if you visit Solo, try to visit this restaurant named PAWON OMAH KOE.

Solo : Tahu Kupat Telor "Sido Mampir"

Through this short post, I'll share about culinary spots in Solo. Honestly, when I stayed there on my last year-end-holiday, actually I'm not feed my self with all traditional food. But I only chose their special food, which only can be found there. If you walking around Gajah Mada street, near the Novotel, you'll find small warung (food stalls) by the side street. It named "Tahu Kupat Telor : Sido Mampir". On a portion, it's combination of bean sprouts, peanuts, noodle, tofu with liquid seasoning (a little bit sweet if you don't order for extra spicy). They can ask you for any options of extra fried egg and rice cake. The price is affordable and cheap enough.

Traditional food : Warung Lesehan Pak Sholeh

After posted many outfit post recently, now let looks the culinary side. Yes, it's been so long I didn't write any post about culinary such as this one, in fact I've published a sneak peak on my instagram. Perhaps I should looking back to the time I went to Malang (a day return) several weeks ago with some friends. This traditional food resto named Warung Lesehan Pak Sholeh is quite famous in East Java. Located in Pandaan and it takes about 1,5 - 2 hours drive from Surabaya if you already knew the place. But for the first time, it gonna take more hours without a detail guide, like what happened to us.

Here the story...
About 8.15 am we left Surabaya to travel Malang. We really didn't know which place for spending our day there. At least I left my flat about 6.00 am, and we had to pick up Intan at her house which so far and we forgot the way to reach her house. We asked some friends which East Java local people by chat to give some advise. And the first place is this one, the place we spent to feed our self. So hard to find it because the network was not strength, we run out of signal for few times, and it made us to find it with little clue and ask people. We passed the wrong way, each person in our car should asked local people there. The funny things to remember, they asked me to get out of car in front of a Junior High School and should ask the students there. Yeah, our driver, Nuel, forced us.

We passed wet fields, opened up the car window, let the wind blew my hair, then we arrived to the place we've been looking for about an hour with empty tummy. There were many gazebos, really had strong traditional atmosphere.

We came too early when they just opened the resto and still did preparation. So we just could order the ayam goreng (traditional fried chicken), sambal terasi (traditional chili sauce), tahu goreng (fried tofu), and sayur lodeh. The taste was so delicious, and I could say "I JUST CANT GET ENOUGH" even though I was so full, especially their chili sauce. The price was so affordable.
And IT'S RECOMMENDED !!!!

Italian Lunch at Kafe Pisa

One afternoon, I had a short debate with a friend looked for what kind of food should be our lunch. In fact that I was drooling hard for the Italian pizza, we decided to find some at Kafe Pisa, an Italian cafe which located at Jalan Manyar Kertoarjo Surabaya, and just so close to my campus.

Chose a table with a view to their garden and let sun shine directly to my face, I just felt so comfort with that. I love sunshine! That time, as we knew, the cafe was so crowded, people came to had their lunch too. That was the reason why I need to wait almost an hour for my dishes to come.

The beverages, Shangria Punch and Frapuccino Amareto.

A plate of pasta that we ordered, Ravioli Carne Funghi.

And the bigsize pizza, at least it was enough for 4 people, Pizza Bianconerri.

Explore their website to find where their closest outlet to you by clicking here , because there also outlets in other cities.

There are two choices which are Choco Banana and Strawberry. The taste are delicious, also just so cheap. Really affordable, perhaps it was the cheapest pancakes that I've ever buy. The price each is IDR 10.000 or equivalent with USD 1! Totally recommended!!!

Bakmi Gajah Mada

What else I got in Jakarta? Absolutely never skip the chance to enjoy this food. Being well known as Bakmi GM which short for Bakmi Gajah Mada. They have any kind of food on their menu, but my favorite is the original, one and only. Went to one of their outlets which located at Mall Kelapa Gading 3 Level 3, and I also took my montchi there.

One of their corners with beach time theme.

Unfortunately they don't have any store here in Surabaya, only in Jakarta, Tanggerang and Bekasi. Find out their store here.

Traditional Food : Cirebon's Nasi Jamblang

AND THIS IS WHAT MADE ME DROOLING HARD WHEN VISITED CIREBON!!!!!!
Named Nasi Jamblang, at least I don't know the history but I never forget for it. Nasi Jamblang can be found in Cirebon only. Went a restaurant at the down town, Nasi Jamblang Ibu Nur, quite famous there. To introduce you what is this food, perhaps I can describe it as rice which wrapped by teak leaves and eat with other side dish such as Pepes Ayam, Ikan Rajungan, and so on. I hoped I got their omelette, but when I reached there, it was vice versa. Ya because I was came about 9 pm with cousins. So I just got the rest of side dish, and that what I eat, enough for feeding my tummy.

Traditional Food : Cirebon's Palimanan Resto

Here I pick some my favorite traditional food that I found in Cirebon, which will be separated to different post each. Cirebon is a small town northern West Java province. There are a Sundaness restaurant located at Jalan Cirebon - Kuningan named Palimanan, actually in suburb area. This three floor resto is so crowded with people almost entire day. Costumers said that the taste was delicious depends on affordable price compare to others Sundaness resto.

Special Sunda's fried chicken, Ayam Goreng.

The fresh veggie, mostly Sundaness people eat these veggie with the other main course, some kind of tradition. That green little bubble called leunca , tasted so weird, I don't know why people love that thing.

Acar bawang. The combination between cucumber, onions, and chili with vinegar.

Sambal ulek. Most district in Indonesia have their own one.

Es Kelapa Muda dengan gula merah, fresh coconut with brown sugar.

Sometimes we need to consume our local food rather than western one, to know much about culture and traditions.
