Kedai Tua Baru

Located at Jalan Tegalsari, this retro-concept restaurant offers many kind of traditional foods with cheap price. Yes, for a kind of place like this, the price is relative cheap compare to another. At first, I didn't think it was as cheap as it was. The price range is between IDR 15-40k before 10% tax and 5% service charge. Well, it named Kedai Tua Baru. Scroll down to find out more about my experience there!

Chaca and I arranged a good brunch for us both. We were confused about deciding the place, and as usual we almost ended up for having western brunch until we found a review about Kedai Tua Baru.

We decided to stay at their outdoor area which it roof is made from glass and they provided air conditioning too. We love a brighter place for fun brunch.

Their indoor area rising the concept of pasar rakyat (traditional market), and they have open kitchen for several cuisines such as Gado-gado and Tahu Tek. This concept remembered me about the interior concept of Eat&Eat as I reviewed here.

Since we didn't ask any boy to come with us, we couldn't order any kind of foods like for tasting. Because our tummy don't have huge capacities like the boys have. So we ordered Nasi Lemak Rendang, Nasi Buntut, Ice tea, Ice Sinom, and Es Campur. Delicious!

I used to love black, and sometimes still but recently I bought clothes in blue. I love both colors perhaps. It's so hard to decide which I love the most between two options like that. I found this top at an indie clothing which only this item that made me get interested from those many others. Perhaps because the color. Paired with skinny blue jeans and pointy stilettos. By the way I gain more fat, OH NOOOO!!! I scared to weigh my body, really, skinny brings me more confidence. I realize this since I have two different sizes jeans which are size 22 and 24. Then I used to very comfort in size 22, and 24 was quite bigger. Then now, I feel size 24 is more comfortable even it is still a little bigger. Early 20es and perhaps my start changing, because decade of being 20 is the period of changing, both physically and mentally.

My friend Chaca is so pretty!

That's my experience at Kedai Tua Baru. Even the taste of food not quite tasteful, but I recommend it for whoever looking for Indonesian food and great place.

Caturra Espreso

This coffee shop that has already been in my list to visit since their opening is named Caturra Espresso. Instagram really such a bomb nowadays. Many people post their experience while enjoy lunch or coffee time in here. That was made me curios about the actual condition of this place. So about a couple weeks behind, at weekend, I asked a friend to accompany me to visit there. So we both just spent our late afternoon at that 'most talked' place.
Located at Jalan Anjasmoro Surabaya (near Jalan Dipenogoro), it was on the backyard of a music school building. I thought the place was quite bigger, but when reached there, it was not as big as I thought.

Latte is one of my favorites, we ordered red velvet and taro.

It was on weekend, so the place was quite crowded. Some people did photoshoot in their backyard, some others took video about manual brewing coffee.

The interior was dominant by white.

My OOTD LOOK. I was wearing a top which called Baju Lumbung, a traditional clothing of Sasak tribe in Lombok island. Then paired it with light-blue gray boyfriend jeans and T-strap sandals. Indonesia has many tribes, but mostly people usually think that the way to represent their love to this nation is by wearing batik. In fact, there are so many others traditional clothing that can be opted.

So we didn't order any food because we had planned to have dinner at different place. The price for a cup of latte we ordered each IDR 38k before tax.

Buro Bar at Society Complex

After a short holiday in my hometown, so I am back for another struggle here in the city of heroes-Surabaya. Well, still in holiday mood and really glad to meet my favorite friends here. During my four years study, I met so many boys and girls are minority there. So it is not a kind of something to hang out with boys without any girls.

Few days behind, perhaps some of you already know from my instagram that I went to this newly opened bar which located at Society Complex in Jalan Sumatera Surabaya. This place is still attract people attention recently. And they have a fine dining restaurant named 1903 and coffee shop named Historica, read my review here.

Well actually, that night I was coming just for having a good time with friends, not to review this place. But these photos are too cute to be skipped for. So apologize for the less photos about the place and the food. The lighting in their outdoor is really low, so it was hard to take great photos since the indoor was already full.

The pizza and snacks such as fries, tortilla, and burrito taste was quite good.

This mirror-mirror space is so fascinating, and the lighting also good enough for taking good pictures.

Blue is my favorite color, and black is a must. So I kept styling my self with that colors.

Left to right : Rino, Channing-whose real name is Hakara but he so similar with the famous Channing Tatum then I called him so,my self, and Abah whose face and body similar with the famous Indonesian's singer Tulus.

And last weekend, still as you seen on my instagram, that I explore East Java! Not all interesting spot, but some of them. Will write about that journey soon.

Pipe and Barrel Surabaya

I am too late to try the famous Chef Ken from Masterchef Indonesia newly opened restaurant in Surabaya. Oh not that 'new', it has already been like a year. This place located at Jalan Polisi Istimewa, Surabaya (across SMAK St. Louis 1). The interior rising the concept of combining retro and modern industrial concept. And there is a huge caricature of Chef Ken himself on a wall!

At the outdoor area, there are many signs on the wall such as license plates.

Still in my obsession of colors to pick, that famous grayscale.

And how about the food? It's quite recommended and the price is affordable compare to other Surabaya's famous restaurant and cafe. We ordered Honey Chicken Rice, Black Pepper Beef Tortilla, and french toast.

No. Three O Six (Barata Jaya)

On April 25th 2015, a newly opened coffee shop in Surabaya named Three O Six (well, actually it is their second place) was something special and different from daily. Since that me and Vinesia, a college mate, need some coffee shop time (besides Starbucks, it just too often), we decided to visit this famous coffee shop.

Assume that this kind of tops become recent trends, and I decided to buy one for my self in black. Yes like what I've already told, that I'm in love with black and need more black clothes.

Best culinary neither traveling partner, Vinesia.

So THIS is it. The things that special, the fancy eclairs from Macs Eclair, the famous online based eclair specialist because it taste and shape actually. For this day only, their team just came to this coffee shop and sold their eclair in piece. And the another special thing is they brewed the flora technica coffee beans from Common Grounds Jakarta. And I chose to make it in Cappuccino (right side). And we ordered the Potato platter because we do love fries. At least, they still have another meal to order, but we were full enough. And since it was around 4 pm, means that it was snack time hehe.

Daring lipstick color and I felt more powerful and confident. I'm not a person who love to put some eye make up on, but I love to play with dark color lipstick.

I am still thinking to decide what kind of hair styles shall I choose for my next style. But there are so many important things to think rather than thinking about styling my self again this time. It's completely a hard time for me, like struggling for something that I scared. But someone told me that God will always besides us, and never surrender with life, then don't stop praying even there is nothing change. We just need to believe in faith.
Pray no matter what happen.

Internship at PT. Dok dan Perkapalan Surabaya

Well, in this new academic year holiday I take internship programs which are required for my undergraduate study. Two months holiday for two different companies, a shipyard then a classification society. I chose a shipyard in Surabaya which is PT. Dok dan Perkapalan Surabaya (PERSERO). Team up with three others, and we spent a month there. We visited several department which is relate to our study such as Engineering Department, Hull Department, etc. The staff from each department were really kind to share their experience in shipbuilding. By this internship, I got a lot new knowledge and compared what I've already learnt in class with the reality in the shipyard.

Actually I was literally tired almost every day that time. Waking up when the sun hasn't rise yet, and sleeping around midnight after completing my daily handwritten report. But I'm happy for that. I can fulfill my holiday with something precious rather than spend the day go on the razzle. Even sometimes I miss the moments there.

NEW CONSTRUCTION : TONASA LINE XVIII, a self propelled barge cement carrier. She was mooring for getting some final check before her delivery time.

Enjoy the heat on board with my Marine Engineering student friends, Lulu and Arian! They both was just so funny!

This morning view always makes me miss to turn back time. It was a view from one of their floating docks.

One fine morning on the tug boat.

An retro wheel like in old movies when the sailor navigate his ship.

FLOATING DOCK.

View from the top of floating dock, it height around 9 meters.

The process of propulsion reparation.

The access which connect the ship and the floating dock.

An alley inside MV. Merah Putih near her engine room.

Spectacular view from MT. Kamojang, an oil tanker of PT. Pertamina when she was docking.

View from her navigation brigde.

Her davit-operated lifeboat, and there were another ship next to it.

My favorite spot, yes I'm totally in love with this bright-blue container. The containers has already converted into comfortable office. But apologize to only post it outside.

So that's from my internship in a shipyard which has already finished in the end of July. And now I'm taking my internship in a classification society, perhaps will make a post about it soon.
